ABOUT

ATOLO supports corporate and regional branding programs using various modes of expression, such as video, graphic design, illustration, and painting, and presents possibilities for many design projects.

Based in Kamakura and Osaka, Japan, we are currently performing art direction, graphic design, and illustration for visual brand communication. From 2016, we began producing independent films. Our short films “BAKEMONO” and “HINOIRINOKAZE” received many awards and good reviews worldwide. We are performing activities which broadly promote Japanese aesthetics to the world, while also considering activities in Europe and America.

Hideki Oshima, Hajime Mizuguchi, and Takashi Kawakami, three Japanese artists who are also known by their individual works, share a passion for the potential of realistically depicted fiction, taking inspiration from nature, history, and culture. The tight-knit relationship between beauty, vividness, darkness, and loneliness give us a creative impulse, making our search for sensibility and technological realization endless.
