Kigumi Toy KUNDE

We created KUNDE, a wood joinery toy unique to Japan with which anyone from children to adults can directly experience the Japanese architectural tradition while enhancing their creativity, concentration, and spatial cognition. A cold climate in the winter and a warm and humid one in the summer, which is also a feature of Japanese homes. We designed a framework of cultural inheritance through a product which provides the experience of familiarity with the process of decay and regeneration and house-building which blends into the nature instead of opposing it, like a temple or a garden, contained in the aesthetics of Japanese people and the wisdom unique to this country which has both earthquakes and typhoons.
